Putin’s Syria role deserving of Nobel Peace Prize

President Putin should get the Nobel Peace Prize for his moves to resolve the Syrian crisis, according to a group of Russian activists and political scientists who have indicated that they are officially proposing the president’s nomination.

One of the main sponsors of the move, State Duma MP Iosif Kobzon,  told reporters that in his view Putin deserved the prize much  more than the 2009 laureate, US President Barack Obama.

“Barack Obama is the man who has initiated and approved the  United States’ aggressive actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, now he  is preparing for an invasion into Syria. He bears this title  nevertheless. Our president, who tries to stop the bloodshed and  who tries to help the conflict situation with political dialogue,  is in my view more worthy of this high title,” the Interfax  news agency quoted Kobzon as saying.

Neplata datoriilor l-a ajutat pe Hitler să-şi consolideze forţele, după ani de instabilitate politică în care Republica de la Weimar s-a luptat cu îndatorarea ridicată.

“Acestea sunt în general evenimente catastrofice. (…) Nu există final fericit”, a declarat Eugene N. White, profesor de istorie a economei la Universitatea Rutgers din New Jersey, potrivit Bloomberg.  Datoria uriaşă a Germaniaei ca urmare a reparţiilor de război a declanşat hiperinflaţie, blocaje politice şi de finanţare şi a adus naziştii la putere, iar ulterior default-ul. Datoria uriaşă poate conduce la rezultate greu de prevăzut, precum războiul civil şi despotismul care au devastat Florenţa după ce regele Edward al III-lea al Angliei a refuzat să-şi plătească datoriile către băncile oraşului stat italian în 1339 sau revoluţia din 1779 din Franţa, venită în urma a două default-uri ale coroanei franceze în 1770 şi 1788.
