RT – ‘Narco-state’ Netherlands? Police union sends warning on overstretched resources

The Netherlands has started to resemble “a narco-state,” with criminals running a parallel economy, and law enforcement is struggling with resource shortages and poor facilities, the Dutch police union has warned.

In the eyes of many Dutch investigators, “the country already has a lot of features of a narco-state,” according to the national police association’s report, which was published on Tuesday. “In the last 25 years, I’ve seen small dealers grow into large entrepreneurs with good contacts in politics and into so-called respected investors,” said one of 400 detectives quoted in the report on condition of anonymity.

Based on accounts gathered over the past year and a half, the NPB report reveals some disturbing facts. According to police officers, only 20 percent of all cases receive attention due to severe shortages in detectives. As officers have to focus more on cases of brutal robberies or murders; small crimes, including a majority of those targeted against the elderly or vulnerable, often remain unpunished.

“With current people and resources, only one-in-nine criminal groups are being dealt with in the fight against organized crime,” the report says.

RT – Humanity is doomed now that robots can open doors (VIDEO)
The latest SpotMini ‘doggie droid’ – originally programmed to help clean dishes – could be a formidable opponent should robots ever rise up against humanity. The extremely dexterous machine has mastered the art of opening doors.
Another sound creation by the team at Boston Dynamics, the SpotMini has been around before, with a version of the nimble robot filmed marauding around an office space and even stacking a dishwasher.

RT – ‘Extraordinary devastation’: Mosul healthcare inadequate months after ‘liberation’ – UNICEF to RT
The healthcare system in Mosul is still far from adequate due to the “massive extent of devastation” inflicted, more than six months since the end of the battle for the city, UNICEF’s representative in Iraq told RT.
The situation in Mosul remains tough, with its residents having extremely limited access to health facilities, despite all the efforts of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and other humanitarian organizations, Peter Hawkins said. The official has recently paid a personal visit to Mosul to hand over equipment to a public health laboratory and witnessed the situation on the ground.
“What we need to understand is the extent of the problem. This is a massive city. Mosul city probably faced one of the biggest urban warfares since World War II and 2.2 – 2.4 million people affected. It’s an enormous challenge to everybody to try and clear everything up and get the people working again,” Hawkins told RT.
The city is still struggling to adjust some seven months after it was “liberated” from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists by Iraqi troops, backed by the US-led coalition. West Mosul has suffered the most, enduring a months-long siege and heavy bombardment, and the situation there is still worse than in other parts of the city.
“If you’re in the east side it’s much better, on the west side the level of devastation was extraordinary. But wherever you are, the number of healthcare centers, hospitals is very limited, the extent of the damage has affected it,” Hawkins said.
“You have to understand the massive extent of devastation,” he added. “It’s a wide area, wide levels of devastation, families have to walk enormous distances to be able to get the health care.”

RT – ‘Where is the coalition?’ Mosul still a corpse-filled ruin months after liberation (GRAPHIC VIDEO)
More than half a year after being liberated, Mosul’s battle wounds still fester. Entire districts lie in ruins with bodies scattered in the streets, and locals say they have yet to see the aid they were promised.
Iraq’s once-bustling second largest city, Mosul now looks like a battle-scarred shadow of its former self. More than seven months after Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi swooped into Mosul to declare “total victory” over Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorists there, large swathes of the city are still nothing but deserted crumbling ruins.
Aerial footage taken by the Ruptly video news agency reveals the devastation that still straddle the once densely populated areas, the consequence of incessant US-led coalition bombings and months of heavy fighting between Iraqi forces and the terrorists.

Just News – RT – Secret Masonic Lodges for politicians and journalists operating at Westminster

RT – Secret Masonic Lodges for politicians and journalists operating at Westminster
Two lodges for Freemason MPs and political journalists are continuing to operate secretly at Westminster, it has been revealed. The ‘brotherhood’ is said to be so covert most lobby reporters are unaware of its existence.
According to the Guardian, the Chambers are still home to the New Welcome Lodge, which recruits MPs, peers and parliamentary staff, and the Gallery Lodge, reserved for the political press corps. Freemasonry records reveal that a third lodge called the Alfred Robbins Lodge, also for journalists, carries on gathering in London on a regular basis.
While the identities of members are unknown to anyone outside the organization, David Staples, the chief executive of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE), the governing body for Freemasons in England and Wales, rejected claims that politicians and journalists who are masons might have divided loyalties.

RT – ‘Ghost ships’ filled with dead sailors make landing on Japanese shores (VIDEO)

Small wooden boats filled with unidentified dead sailors, assumed to be North Korean fishermen, keep washing up on the shores of Japan.
The so-called ‘ghost ships’ have been regularly washing up on the shores of Oga, a city in the peninsular Akita Prefecture. This year, however, has already seen a dramatic rise in the number of discoveries.
Since December, the remains of 35 people have been found aboard 103 wooden boats that drifted onto Japanese shores or were discovered in its territorial waters. A total of 13 of the dead have yet to be identified.

RT – ‘We saw them with our own eyes’: SDF fighters describe unimpeded ISIS exodus from Raqqa
“We saw them with our own eyes. I was on shift at the grain containers turnabout when IS were leaving. There were many of them, we were not afraid of them,” one SDF fighter told Ruptly in late November. He showed the footage featuring the convoy on his mobile phone, saying that he had recorded it and kept it.
“I saw IS, they left with locomotives and buses, they took their luggage and headed towards Rumelan,” another SDF fighter said. “They carried on till Deir [ez-Zor]. I don’t know where they headed to after that, whether to Abu-Kamal or to Mayadeen, they took that road.”
He added there were about 1,000 injured IS fighters and about 2,000 who seemed unhurt.
In November, the BBC reported that a “secret deal” between the US and British-led coalition and the Kurdish forces allowed hundreds of IS terrorists to leave Raqqa peacefully in a long convoy comprised of up to 50 trucks, more than a dozen buses and around 100 other vehicles. Initially neither the coalition nor the Kurdish forces admitted their part in giving free passage to the terrorists. However, Col Ryan Dillon, spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, later said the deal was never a secret, confirming Washington accepted the agreement.
