Food Chain Reaction: A Global Food Security Game
In November 2015, sixty-five international public and private sectors leaders participated in Food Chain Reaction, a simulation and role-playing exercise to improve our understanding of how governments, institutions, and private sector interests might interact to address a crisis in the global food system.
Over the course of two days, the players reacted to a scenario set five years in the future in a world where population growth, rapid urbanization, extreme weather and political crises combine to threaten global food security. By collaborating, negotiating, and confronting tradeoffs, they offered new insights into our food future.
Findings from game will be announced in January 2016.
Food Chain Reaction was produced by World Wildlife Fund and the Center for American Progress, with game design from CNA. Funding and technical support for Food Chain Reaction was provided by Cargill with major support from Mars, Inc.
Panel Discussion: Can Climate Change Break the Global Food System
On February 11, 2016 a panel of experts discussed the findings of Food Chain Reaction: A Global Food Security Game at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Adding climate change to an already volatile mix of disruptions to global food security means more profound and urgent consequences for the global food system. Policies and actions affecting trade, climate and national security can exacerbate food system pressures and volatility worldwide. Panelists examined these issues and proposed policy recommendations to promote resilience and global food security.
The event featured an introduction by Michael Werz of the Center for American Progress (CAP), keynote speaker Senator Tom Daschle, Center for American Progress Chairman and Founder and CEO of The Daschle Group, moderator Alan Bjerga of Bloomberg News and panelists Tim Bodin of Cargill, David McLaughlin of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Matthias Berninger of Mars Incorporated, Geraldo Martha of EMBRAPA Labex-USA and Nutan Kaushik of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

WeatherWar101 – Eclipse 2017: Here is the Part EVERYONE Missed
While the entire country was mesmerized by the Eclipse, this event exposed another glaring daily reality that every American needs to see. As sudden inexplicable cloud-cover obscured Totality for a number of places along the Eclipse route, once again the reality of Daily Manmade Water Vapor Generation (Rapid Evaporation) from Power Plants across the country to create and fuel weather systems, was as obvious as the Eclipse itself.
This is not “Tin Foil Hat Wearing Conspiracy Theory,” this is basic Fluid Dynamics of the simplest order. The only thing I’m talking about is boiling water, just as you do for your morning cup of coffee or tea. When you boil water for your cup of tea, that water evaporates and goes into the air. That is all we are talking about here, and there is nothing complicated about it.
The only difference, is the volume of the water being evaporated. Imagine if you had not one, but 7,000 Tea Kettles to boil water with, and imagine that they were evenly distributed across the entire country. Imagine that each one of those tea kettles was the size of Cooling Towers, and were capable of evaporating tens of thousands of gallons of water vapor per minute. This would add an enormous amount of Water Vapor to the air (which is essentially all that clouds are), and would not only affect the weather and the amount of rain that falls, it would actually create it.
Now, stop imagine it, because this exact system of tea kettles already exists in this country (and on this planet), and it has existed for the last 50 years. Everyone is familiar with the giant cooling towers (usually at Nuclear Power Plants) that billow steam into the sky, but few are familiar with the somewhat smaller but equally capable equivalent units, WSAC (Wet Surface Air Coolers). Every power plant in this country has huge banks of these smaller cooling tower units that are capable of generating tremendous amounts of Water Vapor, and it is this Generated Water Vapor that creates and fuels the deluges and floods that happen in this country, every single day. GOES Satellite imagery continuously proves it.
As I said, this isn’t “Conspiracy Theory.” All you have to do to understand this reality, is open your eyes and look. While the population is kept distracted on a daily basis by every imaginable meme-driven misdirection to keep their attention occupied, this is happening right in front of us all day, every day.
Regardless of where you are in this county, if you stop and look around when clouds and weather starts to develop in your area, you will see with your own eyes, that most of these clouds “seem” to be erupting like mushroom clouds, right from the ground. This isn’t “optical illusion” or anything, it is the simple daily reality. All you have to do to prove it to yourself, is to check out your local power plants and see the process with your own eyes. You’ll find the same reality that the viewer video at the end of this video illustrates, and for the first time in your life, you can start to understand where severe weather – actually comes from.

California Company Caught Using Recycled Pets In Dog Food

A California-based pet food company has been caught using recycled pets as cheap protein in its popular dog food. Party Animals is recalling two lots from its line of Cocolicious Dog Foods after cans in Texas tested positive for pentobarbital — a chemical that’s used by veterinarians to euthanize pets.
Rendering plants recycle material including:
Slaughterhouse waste such as heads and hooves from cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, blood, bones, etc.
Thousands of euthanised cats and dogs from veterinarians and animal shelters
Dead animals such as skunks, rats, and raccoons
Carcasses of pets, livestock, poultry waste
Supermarket rejects
Because rendering plants operate as cheaply as possible, they unavoidably process toxic wastes.
As well as euthanasia drugs given to pets, flea collars and pet ID tags, surgical pins and needles, cattle ID tags and green plastic bags containing dead pets from veterinarians get churned in the mix that becomes “animal byproduct meal.”

An Indonesian court has found the first Christian governor of Jakarta guilty of blasphemy against Islam, sentencing him to two years in prison. His supporters have blasted the verdict, fearing it signals the ‘Islamization’ of Indonesia.
Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, nicknamed ‘Ahok,’ was sentenced to two years in jail on Tuesday by the five-judge panel of the south Jakarta court.
He was “found to have legitimately and convincingly conducted a criminal act of blasphemy, and because of that we have imposed two years of imprisonment,” head judge Dwiarso Budi Santiarto stated.
Other judges supported the blasphemy charge, saying that “the defendant didn’t feel guilt,” “caused anxiety and hurt Muslims,” and should not have used “words with negative connotations regarding the symbols of religions,” according to the Guardian.
The governor was arrested immediately after the verdict and taken to Cipinang Prison in east Jakarta, but is set to file an appeal. The sentence is harsher than prosecutors had called for as they had reportedly recommended two years of probation, AP reports.
